EMERGENCY CARE FOR MOTHERS AND CHILDREN

The centre receives pregnant women and mothers with children under the age of 3. The women may be accommodated in a group home or in a network of flats, and contribute financially to their care (usually through the single parents’ allowance, API). Women initially stay for a renewable period of 6 months, up to a maximum of 3 years.

It can organise emergency accommodation for lone parents who are victims of domestic violence with their children and for unaccompanied minors.

Mothers can apply either directly to the facility or to the Departmental Council’s Child Welfare Department. Translators on site: English, Arabic, Romanian
