At first I was very wary of associations that are supposed to help you with your administrative procedures. I wanted to solve my own problems, working things out by asking the pertinent questions to the different people I speak with.
After a while, I felt out of my depth: what was going on with my application? Why weren’t things moving forward?
I therefore decided to get help from different organisations, notably the CIMADE, which seemed tome to be the one to offer me real assistance. They often work with mixed mariages, which was not my case, but they still advised me very well. I met lawyers who gave me good advice. I saw them every week; they followed my case closely.
