European Working Holiday visas for Japanese nationals

Extract from Récit de Kenji • 30 years old • Man • Japanese

I arrived in Europe, in Germany to be precise, in 2010. I lived there for 3-4 years, at first on a one-year visa, and then later with two renewals for 2 years each. The first was a Working Holiday Visa giving the possibility to Japanese travellers to not only come to Europe but also to work part-time here. The visa is very easy to obtain back home and you can choose the country and the town where you want to settle in: Germany, Australia, England, France… it makes the visas application procedure much easier. An ordinary visa for Europe is much harder to obtain because you have to prove that you have the financial means to support yourself.
