An Italian architect is still an architect

Extract from Récit de Marcello • 35 years old • Man • Italian

I have often found it difficult to have my Italian diplomas and credentials recognised by Pôle Emploi (the French employment agency). They sometimes told me that I should sit exams in France in order to validate my diploma in architecture. By contrast, when I spoke directly to architects during job interviews all I had to say was that I was a registered member of the Order of Italian Architects. That cleared things up and there was no more talk of equivalences.
